The Mixed-Race Asian Male Experience (‘Escape From Plan A‘ Ep. 115)

Previously, we at Escape From Plan A discussed the overall experience of growing up mixed-race Asian as well as the sexual fetishization that mixed-race Asian women face. In this episode, three mixed-race Asian men delve deeper into their specific gendered experiences of being Asian and white. First-time guests Anton Song and Mike Norris join C.S. Taniguchi and Chris to talk about experiences such as “changing races” as they grew up, whether the race of one’s romantic partner is an assertion of one’s racial identity, and what mixed-race media representation is like. This is a long one, but there’s a reason we kept on going, so listen on!

Please note that for the purpose of specificity, we sought to focus this discussion on mixed-raced Asians with white heritage. Future episodes will focus on other types of mixed-raced Asians.
