The following are edited excerpts from “Weinstein’s Hollywood”, the 5th episode of Plan A’s podcast, Escape From Plan A.
If Harvey Weinstein was a good guy up until yesterday, then just flipped, it would be a typical Hollywod scandal story, no further meaning. But the fact that these allegations go back into that era where we ourselves were sort of upded into thinking that these were our national treasures, it’s forcing us to go back and question our commitment to the ideals of the past.

Weinstein can’t control social media. The New York Times article came out, but then all these people are going to come out and are going to say what they want to say. He can’t intimidate Twitter, he can’t intimidate Instagram.
— Mark
Any time I see someone who is extraordinary in one sense or another, the first thing I’m curious about is what is the dark side to this person? What is the perversion, where is the freak? There’s no way they’re just normal people except just amazing.

If we gave all this power to these people and they ended up being so bad, what does that say about us?
